Psalms 150:2
גבורת - heroine, גבור - hero
Shine himself within the powerful/heroines1 of himself! Shine himself as an abounding/multiplied one of the magnitude of himself!Footnote:
Psa. 150:2 | The feminine form of hero in Hebrew is גיבוֹרה or גבוֹרה (giborah), derived from the word גבוֹר (gibor), which means "hero" or "warrior."
It is a straightfoward translation, especially keeping inline with her masculine counterpart the gibor. But scholars wouldn't allow such words, and thus they chose abstract concepts for the feminine as often as they were able. That is, when a word pertained to the masculine, it meant "warrior" or "mighty man" but when it pertained to the feminine, it was merely, "valor" or "might." |
