Footnotes

Exo. 3:18

The Hebrew ונזבחה (ve-nizbaḥa) consists of the conjunction וְ (ve, "and") and the verb נזבחה (nizbaḥa), derived from the root זבח (zavah), meaning "to sacrifice" or "to slaughter." The verb could be in the first person plural active or passive (we will be sacrificed", "we are sacrificing") however, נזבחה is construct with the suffix ה (-ha) and thus is most accurately, "we are sacrificing her," the suffix ה indicating a feminine singular object.
