She is not bowing herself down to themselves and she is not serving themselves, for Myself, He Is, mighty ones of yourself, a mighty one of jealousy, he who visits/looks after the bent over one of the fathers, upon the builders/sons, upon thirty, and upon forty, to those who are hated.6Footnote:
| Exo. 20:5 | The Hebrew שנאי (sonei) can be either the active or passive participle form of the verb "שנא" (sane), which means "to hate." As an active noun, שנאי (sonei) can mean "haters" or "those who hate." As a passive, it means "those hated" Compare שנאיו in Genesis 24:60. The Hebrew שנאיו (sone'av) consists of two components: שנאיו (sone'av) is the plural form of the noun שנא (sonei), which means "haters/hated ones" The suffix -ו (av): This suffix means "his" indicating possession or association. So, שנאיו(sone'av) translates to "his haters/hated ones." Also note the Qere שְׂנֻאֵ֖י given by the Masoretes in 2 Samuel 5:8 for the passive participle plural "those hated by David..." |
