Matthew 27:29

Καὶ πλέξαντες στέφανον ἐξ ἀκανθῶν, ἐπέθηκαν ἐπὶ τὴν κεφαλὴν αὐτοῦ, καὶ κάλαμον ἐπὶ τὴν δεξιὰν αὐτοῦ· καὶ γονυπετήσαντες ἔμπροσθεν αὐτοῦ ἐνέπαιζον αὐτῷ, λέγοντες, Χαῖρε, ὁ βασιλεὺς τῶν Ἰουδαίων·

And those who have braided together a wreath from out of thorn bushes, imposed upon the Head of himself,⁵³ also a reed-pen within the Right-side of himself, and those who have fallen on the knees in front of himself, mocked himself, those who are saying, "Rejoice! King of the Casters!"

πλέκω (plekó) - Plaited/braided together.

"Rejoice! King of the Casters! Again I say, Rejoice!"

Julia Smith Literal 1876 Translation:
And having twined a crown of thorns, they put upon, his head: and a reed upon his right hand: and having fallen upon the knees before him, they mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews!

LITV Translation:
And plaiting a crown of thorns, they placed it on His head, and a reed in His right hand . And bowing the knee before Him, they mocked at Him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews.

ESV Translation:
and twisting together a crown of thorns, they put it on his head and put a reed in his right hand. And kneeling before him, they mocked him, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!”

Greek ἐπέθηκαν ἐπὶ τὴν κεφαλὴν αὐτοῦ imposed upon the Head of himself. Here, the noun "the Head" is in the genitive case, i.e. "over the Head" or "on account of" as opposed to John 19:2 where it is in the dative "laid upon the Head"
