Chapter 21
Matthew 21:25
Τὸ βάπτισμα Ἰωάννου πόθεν ἦν; Ἐξ οὐρανοῦ ἢ ἐξ ἀνθρώπων; Οἱ δὲ διελογίζοντο παρ᾽ ἑαυτοῖς, λέγοντες, Ἐὰν εἴπωμεν, Ἐξ οὐρανοῦ, ἐρεῖ ἡμῖν, Διὰ τί οὖν οὐκ ἐπιστεύσατε αὐτῷ;

RBT Hebrew Literal:
From where was the Submersion, the one of Favored? From out of a heavenly one or from out of men?" And the ones began dialoguing within their own selves, those who are saying, "If we should say from out of a heavenly one, he will say to ourselves, For what reason therefore have you not trusted himself?
Julia Smith Literal 1876 Translation:
The baptism of John, whence was it of heaven or of men And they reasoned by themselves, saying, If we say, of heaven; he will say to us, Why, then, believed ye him not?
The baptism of John, whence was it of heaven or of men And they reasoned by themselves, saying, If we say, of heaven; he will say to us, Why, then, believed ye him not?
LITV Translation:
The baptism of John, from where was it? From Heaven, or from men? And they reasoned among themselves, saying, If we shall say, From Heaven, He will say to us, Why then did you not believe him?
The baptism of John, from where was it? From Heaven, or from men? And they reasoned among themselves, saying, If we shall say, From Heaven, He will say to us, Why then did you not believe him?
ESV Translation:
The baptism of John, from where did it come? From heaven or from man?” And they discussed it among themselves, saying, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will say to us, ‘Why then did you not believe him?’
