33 | Jeremiah The name ירמיהו (Yirmeyahu) or ירמיה (Yirmiyah) in Hebrew is derived from the Hebrew root רמה, which means "to raise," "to lift up," or "to exalt." The word is used in teh context of "raising up" the "ark of Noah" and the "ark of the covenant." The name ירמיהו (Yirmeyahu) is composed of two parts:
