Luke 9:49

Ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ ὁ Ἰωάννης εἶπεν, Ἐπιστάτα, εἴδομέν τινα ἐπὶ τῷ ὀνόματί σου ἐκβάλλοντα δαιμόνια· καὶ ἐκωλύσαμεν αὐτόν, ὅτι οὐκ ἀκολουθεῖ μεθ᾽ ἡμῶν.

And he who has been separated, the Favored, said, "Boss, we have perceived a certain one within the Name of yourself, he who is casting out divine powers, and we were hindering himself because he is not accompanying in company with ourselves."

Julia Smith Literal 1876 Translation:
And John having answered said, Ruler, we saw a certain one casting out demons in thy name; and we hindered him, because he follows not with us.

LITV Translation:
And answering, John said, Master, we saw someone casting out demons on Your name, and we forbade him because he does not follow with us.

ESV Translation:
John answered, “Master, we saw someone casting out demons in your name, and we tried to stop him, because he does not follow with us.”
