Ἀπεκρίθησαν αὐτῷ, Σπέρμα Ἀβραάμ ἐσμεν, καὶ οὐδενὶ δεδουλεύκαμεν πώποτε· πῶς σὺ λέγεις ὅτι Ἐλεύθεροι γενήσεσθε;

They separated toward himself, "We are seed of Father of Multitude ("Ab-raham"), and we have been a slave to nothing at any time. How is yourself saying that 'You will become freed ones?"

Julia Smith Literal 1876 Translation:
They answered him, We are Abraham's seed, and have never served any; how sayest thou, That ye shall be free?

LITV Translation:
They answered Him, We are Abraham's seed, and we have been in slavery to no one, never! How do you say, You will become free?

ESV Translation:
They answered him, “We are offspring of Abraham and have never been enslaved to anyone. How is it that you say, ‘You will become free’?”
