RBT Hebrew Literal:
You were slaves of the Evil One
I am no longer speaking yourselves 'Slaves', because the Slave does not perceive who the Master of himself is making. But I have spoken, 'Friends' because everything, whatever I have heard from close beside the Father of myself, I have made known to yourselves.
Julia Smith Literal 1876 Translation:
I no more call you servants; for the servant knows not what his lord does: and I have called you friends; for all which I heard of my Father I made known to you.
LITV Translation:
I no longer call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his lord does. But I called you friends, because all things which I heard from My Father I made known to you.
ESV Translation:
No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.
