The Dual Mistress and the Weak Brother Away from the House of Misery
And he was anyone who is weak, Helpless ("Lazarus")94 away from House of Misery, from out of the Unwalled Village of Bitter-Rebel ("Mary") and Mistress ("Martha"), the Sister of herself.
Julia Smith Literal 1876 Translation:
And a certain Lazarus was sick, from Bethany, of the town of Mary And Martha her sister.
LITV Translation:
And there was a certain sick one, Lazarus from Bethany, of the village of Mary and her sister Martha.
ESV Translation:
Now a certain man was ill, Lazarus of Bethany, the village of Mary and her sister Martha.

Greek #2976 Λάζαρος. Some thought אֶלְעָזָר, "whom God helps". Others, equivalent to לֹא עֶזֶר , "without help", Lazarus. In either case, he was helpless, needing help.
