Descending like a Bride

And the Favored bore witness, he who speaks that, I have beheld the Spirit climbing down just like a dove from out of heaven, and she remained over himself.⁵⁵

First the dark one, the Raven, then the light, the Dove. Genesis 1:24. The birds return from the time-circuit of the earth to the place from which they came forth.

Julia Smith Literal 1876 Translation:
And John testified, saying, That I have seen the Spirit descending as a dove from heaven, and it remained up on him.

LITV Translation:
And witnessed, saying, I have seen the Spirit coming down as a dove out of Heaven, and He abode on Him.

ESV Translation:
And John bore witness: “I saw the Spirit descend from heaven like a dove, and it remained on him.

The dove is a feminine noun. A picture-riddle of the bride of heaven descending the ladder/stairs. In all likelihood the dove rested on his shoulder…
