The word is unknown to scholars but is either derived from yom (#3117) hot-one or yam (#3220) sea, or both. There is a plural for seas יַמִּ֑ים yamim (Gen. 1:10), and there is a plural for days יָמִים yomim and they are spelled similar to the Yemim יֵּמִם֙ . |
