Therefore she called the well, The well of him whom I have openly seen; behold it is between Kadesh and Bered.

Hebrew Beer-lahai-roi. This well is the “eye-spring of the dual-waters in the wilderness” mentioned in verse 7. Kadesh means holy, clean, pure, or consecrated and Bered (#1260) is from the root barad, meaning to hail (ice). See Exodus 9:18-34, 10:1-15.
