Their Eternal Self
And the Bird of Prey is climbing down upon the limp corpses, and Lifted Up Father is turning back their eternal self. עיט refers to a bird of prey, such as a hawk, falcon, or vulture. It is a general term for predatory birds, especially those that are scavengers or hunters.
As a verb, עיט conveys the idea of a swooping down motion, as is characteristic of birds of prey when they attack.
עיט can also be used metaphorically to describe destruction, predation, or greed, drawing from the behavior of these birds.
