And one of them that had been rescued came and told Abram the Hebrew; and he dwelt by the oak of Mamre the Amorite the brother of Eshcol, and the brother of Aner, who were confederates with Abram.

Father-of-Tumult is the first “Hebrew” which comes from root eber (Strong’s #5677) which means “region beyond” and according to Joshua 24:2 means specifically from beyond the [Euphrates] River: “Thus has said Yahweh elohe of Israel, ‘From the age your fathers lived beyond the River, namely, Terah, the father of Father-of-Tumult and the father of Nahor, and they served other gods.’”
