Galatians 3:23

Πρὸ τοῦ δὲ ἐλθεῖν τὴν πίστιν, ὑπὸ νόμον ἐφρουρούμεθα, συγκεκλεισμένοι εἰς τὴν μέλλουσαν πίστιν ἀποκαλυφθῆναι.

And in front of the one to come, the Trust, we were militantly-guarded under a law, those who are shut in together, into the Trust, she who is destined to be unveiled.

But before the coming of faith, we were guarded under law, having been locked up to the faith being about to be revealed.

ESV Translation:
Now before faith came, we were held captive under the law, imprisoned until the coming faith would be revealed.
