Πρὸ τοῦ δὲ ἐλθεῖν τὴν πίστιν, ὑπὸ νόμον ἐφρουρούμεθα, συγκεκλεισμένοι εἰς τὴν μέλλουσαν πίστιν ἀποκαλυφθῆναι.

And before faith came, we were guarded under the law, shut up to faith about to be revealed.

LITV Translation:
But before the coming of faith, we were guarded under law, having been locked up to the faith being about to be revealed.

ESV Translation:
Now before faith came, we were held captive under the law, imprisoned until the coming faith would be revealed.
