Ἠκούσατε γὰρ τὴν ἐμὴν ἀναστροφήν ποτε ἐν τῷ Ἰουδαϊσμῷ, ὅτι καθ᾽ ὑπερβολὴν ἐδίωκον τὴν ἐκκλησίαν τοῦ Θεοῦ, καὶ ἐπόρθουν αὐτήν·

For you have heard of the Upturning of mine, once within the Religion of Casting ("Judah-ism"), that I chased down with a throwing beyond, the Summoned Assembly of the God, and I ravaged herself.

For ye heard of my turning about when in Judaism, that in excess I drove out the church of God, and laid it waste:

For you heard my way of life when I was in Judaism, that with surpassing zeal I persecuted the church of God and ravaged it.

For you have heard of my former life in Judaism, how I persecuted the church of God violently and tried to destroy it.
