Julia Smith Literal 1876 Translation:
And Hamel will say, Wherefore weeps my lord? and he will say, Because I knew that thou wilt do to the sons of Israel evil: their fortifications thou wilt send forth into fire, and their chosen thou wilt kill with the sword, and thou wilt dash in pieces their children, and the pregnant thou wilt cleave asunder.
LITV Translation:
And Hazael said, Why is my lord weeping? And he said, Because I know the evil that you will do to the sons of Israel. You will send their fortified places into fire and you will slay their young men with the sword. And you will dash their sucklings to pieces; and you will rip up their pregnant women.
ESV Translation:
And Hazael said, “Why does my lord weep?” He answered, “Because I know the evil that you will do to the people of Israel. You will set on fire their fortresses, and you will kill their young men with the sword and dash in pieces their little ones and rip open their pregnant women.”
Brenton Septuagint Translation:
And Hazael said, Why does my lord weep? And he said, Because I know all the evil that thou wilt do to the children of Israel: thou wilt utterly destroy their strongholds with fire, and thou wilt slay their choice men with the sword, and thou wilt dash their infants against the ground, and their women with child thou wilt rip up.
