Julia Smith Literal 1876 Translation:
And it will be in the time of bringing in the ark to the charge of the king by the hand of the Levites, and in their seeing that there was much silver, and the king's scribe came, and the head priest's overseer, and they will empty the ark and lift it up, and turn it back to its place. Thus they did to day by day, and they will gather silver for multitude.
LITV Translation:
And it happened, at the time one brought in the chest to the king's overseers, by the hand of the Levites, and when they saw that the silver was much a scribe of the king came in, and an officer of the head priest, and they emptied the chest and took it up and returned it to its place; so they did day by day, and gathered much silver.
ESV Translation:
And whenever the chest was brought to the king’s officers by the Levites, when they saw that there was much money in it, the king’s secretary and the officer of the chief priest would come and empty the chest and take it and return it to its place. Thus they did day after day, and collected money in abundance.
Brenton Septuagint Translation:
And it came to pass, when they brought in the box to the officers of the king by the hand of the Levites, and when they saw that the money was more than sufficient, then came the king’s scribe, and the officer of the high priest, and emptied the box, and restored it to its place. Thus they did day by day, and collected much money.
