1John 2:19
Footnote:
4 | Greek φανερωθῶσιν is a third person plural word, "That they might be revealed" or "so that they might become manifest." The translation of "it might be revealed" assumes some singular subject. But there is none. In fact it is the context itself that is used as a "singular" subject and this is enough reason for translators to not translate it as the plural. φανερωθῇ (phanerōthē) – This is the aorist subjunctive passive form of φανερόω (to reveal, make appear, manifest), used for singular subjects.
